Stephen rushes to enlist to fight the first world war. Leaving behind a new wife and baby on the way, he soon finds himself in the trenches in Gallipoli. 4 yrs later he is the only survivor in his platoon, shell-shocked and disillusioned, and he mysteriously disappears. His fate is still a mystery more than 80 yrs later when his grandson Patrick finds a diary that leads him to discover what reallly happened.
